Macron’s first steps into Latin America

During the 9th annual international economic forum of Latin America and the Carribeans that was held in Paris, Peruvian president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Guatemalan president Jimmy Morales, as well as French president Emmanuel Macron had met in order to discuss all major economic issues facing the Latin American region.

The forum is considered to be one of the major events dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean. Its purpose is to gather private as well as public sector leaders and representatives from international organizations involved in Latin America and to promote positive dialogue between said parties.

“Bilateral economic relations have significantly improved, and France hopes to impose its role as a major economic partner in the Latin-American region” declared the French minister of economy during his opening speech. “Foreign direct investments of European and French origin, may possibly have positive influence in bringing capital, new technology and access to new markets” added LeMaire.

In addition, the forum also focused on the importance of investing in areas such as education among Latin-American youth and fostering entrepreneurial spirit.
