{"id":2164,"date":"2017-08-04T05:49:41","date_gmt":"2017-08-04T09:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goexport.ca\/?p=2164"},"modified":"2021-01-12T12:29:27","modified_gmt":"2021-01-12T17:29:27","slug":"the-projected-impacts-of-the-eu-mercosur-trade-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goexport.ca\/en\/the-projected-impacts-of-the-eu-mercosur-trade-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"The projected impacts of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> of June, high level executives from Spanish, French and Greek companies participated in the first European investment forum that was held in Montevideo, Uruguay. \u00a0During the reunion, leaders from different backgrounds expressed their hopes for a free trade agreement between the EU and the Mercosur bloc. \u201cThe agreement could highly benefit European businesses and thus give them easier access to the whole region\u201d state Gonzalo Sola, head of projects development at the Spanish company \u201cAlpein Ingenieros\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Greek elevator manufacturer \u201cKleeman\u201d: \u201cour interest in expanding our operations to Latin America and establishing a base on Uruguayan soil is positively correlated with the EU-Mercosur Trade agreement.\u201d \u00a0the company\u2019s director of new business said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe French cosmetics company \u00ab\u00a0On\u00e9rique\u00a0\u00bb was notably impressed by Uruguay\u2019s remarkable innovation initiatives in terms of wind power production and the country\u2019s sensitivity towards environmental concerns.\u201d Said Glorimar Primera-Riedweg, director of On\u00e9rique.<\/p>\n<p>Over 700 company representatives, along with European and Latin American government officials had participated in the forum at Montevideo.
